Who bothers to weep for Abdul and Tanaya?

With the proceeds from Jürgen Todenhöfer's book `Who bothers to weep for Abdul and Tanaya?´, the Verein für Afghanistan Förderung (Association for Afghanistan Assistance) built a home for 100 disabled or orphaned Afghan boys and girls in northern Kabul. The home, called 'Peiwand-e-Nur' (or 'connection to light') was officially inaugurated in February 2006.

Fortunately, several wonderful people helped to finance the home. For instance – to mention just one of many examples – pupils at Louisenlund school in Eckernförde organized a charity auction selling paintings they had painted themselves. The auction raised 10,000 euros.
